CLASSES
Flowers
(Please provide your own vase)
A1 One spike of flowers (one stem only)
A2 One vase of annuals
A3 3 stems of Roses (1 or more variety)
A4 One pot plant
A5 3 perennial flowers (1 variety)
A6 A flower arrangement – theme ‘World War 1’
A7 Arrangement of herbs in a vase (minimum of 3 varieties)
Fruit
B1 4 apples of 1 variety
B2 4 orchard fruits on a plate (not apples)
B3 A plate of 3 any different fruits (not apples)
B4 Bowl of soft fruits (minimum of 3 varieties)
Vegetables
C1 5 potatoes on a plate (same variety)
C2 6 carrots with foliage
C3 6 tomatoes (1 variety) or 1 vine
C4 6 mixed tomatoes on a plate (minimum of 3 varieties)
C5 6 runner beans
C6 Largest vegetable
C7 Longest runner bean
C8 Trug of vegetables (all must have been grown in the same garden)
minimum of 5 different ingredients.
Domestic Section
Jams and Preserves
D1 A jar of chutney or pickle
D2 A jar of jam
D3 A jar of fruit curd
D4 A jar of sauce to accompany meat
D5 A homemade bottle of anything drinkable (non-alcoholic)
Cookery
E1 6 individual scones
E2 A basic Victoria sponge following the attached recipe.
E3 A Vegetable cake
E4 4 decorated cupcakes
Arts & Crafts
F1 An example of needlework
F2 An example of knitting
F3 Any other example of art or craftwork
Photography
G1 A4 size or smaller unmounted print with the theme of ‘Seaside’
G2 A4 size or smaller unmounted print with the theme of ‘Weather’
G3 A4 size or smaller unmounted print with the theme of ‘Great Dunham’
Children
H1 An animal or person made out of vegetables or fruit
H2 1 decorated cupcake
Rules and Conditions of Entry
1. Entry fees:-
a.Adults 20p for each entry
b.Children 10p for each entry
2. Only one entry per person per category is allowed
3. 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each category will receive a certificate
4. Best in class will be awarded a Rosette
5. All entries must be grown, made or cooked by the exhibitor within the
past 12 months.
6. Jams and Preserves must have a plain lid (no advertising is allowed)
7. Children’s exhibits will be divided into 2 age groups
a) 7 and under
b) 8 – 12 years
8. No names must be visible on the exhibit
9. All entries to the show may be taken to Great Dunham Village Hall on
Friday 31st August from 4pm – 6pm
Saturday 1st September between 9am - 11 am
10.All exhibits must have a staging card which will be given by a steward
11.Judging will take place from 11.30am
12.The Judge’s decision is final.
Admission to the show will be from 1pm
General public entry fee £1.00 – all exhibitors and children free admission.
There will be a Tombola
Refreshments
Best in show will be awarded at 3pm
Proceeds will be split 50/50 with
Great Dunham Amenities Fund & Swaffham and Litcham Home Hospice
